Upgrading to Energy Star certified windows offers a multitude of benefits, enhancing not only your home’s energy efficiency but also providing several other advantages. Here’s a detailed answer:

1. Enhanced Energy Efficiency: Energy Star certified windows are designed to keep the heat in during winter and out during summer. This improved insulation reduces the workload on your heating and cooling systems, leading to significant energy savings.

2. Lower Utility Bills: By improving your home’s thermal efficiency, these windows help cut down on energy consumption, which translates to lower utility bills. The savings can be substantial over time, offsetting the initial investment in high-quality windows.

3. Increased Comfort: Energy-efficient windows help in maintaining consistent temperatures throughout your home, eliminating cold drafts in winter and reducing heat gain during summer months. This means enhanced comfort for you and your family all year round.

4. UV Protection: Energy Star certified windows come with special coatings that can significantly reduce the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation entering your home. This not only prevents your furniture, carpets, and curtains from fading but also protects your skin from harmful UV exposure while indoors.

5. Noise Reduction: Improved designs and sealing technologies that can help reduce noise from the outside. Whether it’s traffic, construction, or neighborhood noise, energy-efficient windows can provide a quieter and more peaceful indoor environment.

6. Environmental Impact: By reducing energy consumption, Energy Star certified windows contribute to lower greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. Upgrading to these windows supports your personal commitment to environmental stewardship.

7. Increased Property Value: Homes with energy-efficient upgrades are often more attractive to buyers. Installing Energy Star certified windows can enhance your home’s curb appeal and potentially increase its market value.

8. Potential Rebates and Incentives: Many utility companies and governments offer rebates, tax credits, or incentives for homeowners who choose energy-efficient upgrades, including Energy Star certified windows. This can help reduce the overall cost of window replacement projects.

In summary, upgrading to Energy Star certified windows is a smart choice for homeowners looking to improve their home’s energy efficiency, comfort, and overall value, while also contributing to environmental conservation.

We carry worker’s compensation and liability insurance on all of our staff.

Yes, the safety of our staff and the protection of your home are our number one priority. You will find that our process is built around protecting your home and treating it the same way we would want it to be treated if we were getting new windows and doors installed in our own homes. This means that we always wear the proper safety gear to protect our staff and we always take the extra steps to cover your furniture and flooring so that they are protected from any issues that may occur during the installation process.

All we ask from you is that you remove any window blinds or curtains and breakable valuable items from the working areas prior to our arrival. (expensive art, china, trinkets, grand pianos, irreplaceable items, and items of sentimental value).

Our priority is to take as much time as we need to do things properly and to never cut corners. However, we understand and value the importance of getting things done so we can return your home to you as soon as possible. Most projects take one or two days to complete. Please ask us for an estimate on how long we think your project will take.

Unless you request otherwise, all of our windows and sliding patio doors are going to be produced with today’s best glass technology by Cardinal Glass  to ensure that you get a high-efficiency product that provides you with the benefits of a more comfortable home and a reduction in energy cost.

Yes. We can offer you just the windows if you are installing them yourself.

This measures the rate of heat loss and how well a product insulates. The lower the number, the better a product is at keeping heat inside a building. The U factor is key in winter months, and important to consider in choosing a window.

Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) are sophisticated window components engineered to enhance a building’s thermal efficiency. These units comprise two or more panes of glass spaced apart and hermetically sealed to form a single glazed unit. The cavity between the glass panes is  inserted with gas, such as argon or krypton, to improve insulation.

Cardinal Glass Industries is at the forefront of producing these high-performance glass panes, including options with low-emissivity (Low-E) coatings that further improve energy efficiency by reflecting infrared light. This technology significantly limits heat transfer, contributing to a building’s ability to maintain consistent internal temperatures, reduce energy costs, and increase occupant comfort.

Key benefits of using IGUs, particularly those manufactured by Cardinal Glass, include:

  • Enhanced Energy Efficiency: Cardinal Glass’s IGUs are designed to minimize heat exchange through windows, supporting energy conservation efforts by keeping interiors warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
  • Noise Reduction: The multiple layers of glass, combined with the gas fill, serve as an effective barrier against external noise, making indoor spaces quieter.
  • Reduced Condensation: IGUs help to maintain a stable temperature across the window surface, reducing the likelihood of condensation forming on the inside of the glass.
  • UV Protection: Many of Cardinal Glass’s products feature coatings that block harmful UV rays, protecting interior furnishings from fading while reducing sun damage.

Cardinal Glass Industries emphasizes innovation in its IGUs, focusing on sustainability and the development of glass technologies that enhance the living and working environments. Their contributions to the field of insulated glass underscore the company’s commitment to producing quality components that meet the evolving needs of energy-efficient construction.

Low-E is a metallic coating on the inside glass surface to reflect or absorb the sun’s warmth and reduce damaging UV rays. Low-E offers enhanced U factor and Solar Heat gain coefficient.

Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Dept. of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.

This measures how well a product blocks heat from the sun. The lower the number the better.
